Currently, we're looking to add to our team and have an opportunity for a Maintenance Technician. This role involves working rostered 4 day on / 4 day off, 12 hour shifts. During the Hoki season you will be required to also work rostered day or night shifts. 

 

The Engineering team is responsible for the maintenance of all site assets and infrastructure at the Nelson processing site. The Maintenance Technician has a key role within this team and will be responsible for all production areas in terms of maintenance and repair.

 

The purpose of this role is to:

  • Maintain and repair plant and equipment, including fitting and turning components, to ensure safe and efficient operation. Be the first point of contact in the event of equipment breakdown
  • Ensure maximum uptime by performing routine maintenance, adjustments, and repairs to support uninterrupted processing operations
  • Undertake maintenance of the machines as scheduled from CMMS
  • Fitting and assembly of machinery, parts and equipment
  • Monitor machine performance during operation and make adjustments as needed to ensure optimal output. Undertake machine overhauls as and when scheduled or required
  • Operate lathes, mills and other machines as and when required
  • Read and interpret drawings, design plans and specifications to determine job requirements
  • Provide technical input and recommendations to improve machine accuracy, productivity, and operational efficiency in conjunction with production team

 

Previous career skills will include:

  • Trade Qualification required
  • Significant experience in engineering, preferably with experience in production maintenance including automated food processing and packaging equipment
  • Proactive attitude towards plant maintenance and customer service
  • A strong commitment to health and safety
  • Strong motivation and keen to learn and utilise new skills, Safe Operating Procedure training will be provided
  • An ability to work independently as well as contributing to a team
