The Role

We are seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join the team in Nelson, New Zealand. Reporting to the Maintenance Team Leader, you will be responsible for day-to-day repairs and planned preventative maintenance, ensuring all plant and equipment operate at optimum efficiency. This role requires both independent work and collaboration with contractors.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily repairs and planned preventative maintenance.
  • Supervise and collaborate with contractors as needed.
  • Ensure all plant and equipment run at optimum efficiency.

The minimum hours of work for this role are 40 hours per week, which may include shifts. Paid overtime is also available.

 

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for a motivated and self-driven engineer with at least 5 years of experience preferably in a food manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Mechanical Trade Qualification / Certificate (Fitter and Turner Qualification).
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands on experience in food manufacturing maintenance.
  • Expertise in the repair and maintenance of automated processing and packaging equipment.
  • A proactive attitude toward plant maintenance.
  • The ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • An unwavering commitment to health and safety, fostering a culture of absolute well-being.
