ERP Business Analyst

About Us 

Sealord is a global seafood enterprise with a world-wide fishing, processing and marketing network. Sealord retains its home base in New Zealand and has led the seafood industry in the careful and sustainable management of fish and seafood resources. 

Our global catch is approximately 115,000 tonnes and we export over 90% of our New Zealand product to more than 40 countries. Sealord Fishing operates a number of deep-sea fishing vessels and land-based operations including major onshore processing plants in Nelson.  

The Role 

This is an exciting permanent opportunity, based in Nelson, for a smart, experienced, confident, Business Analyst to shape Sealord business outcomes and project direction. It provides you with the chance to help lead business support and transformation activities as part of a talented internal team. 

This role replaces a highly respected existing B.A. who has been central to the development and application of IT systems within our planning, sales, purchasing and finance business areas. This is a strategic appointment for the Sealord IT team, critical in supporting existing business systems and requirements amongst a period of significant business change over the coming years.

The successful candidate for this role will be intellectually sharp, digitally agile, ideally experienced in manufacturing and finance. You also need to have great interpersonal skills and the desire to learn continuously at the same time as sharing your knowledge. 

Core responsibilities are: 

• Understanding and continuously improving Sealord business processes. 

• Applying your knowledge of data and systems. 

• Capturing clear customer, product, and system requirements. 

• Leading workshops and exploring solution architecture options.  

• Key ownership and support of Sealord ERP (Infor M3) & related systems. 

Who we are looking for 

To be successful in this role, in addition to all the standard BA skills, critical for success are: 

• Solid knowledge of accounting principles and practices 

• Experience working with ERP systems, ideally for a process manufacturing company running Infor M3 

• Outstanding ability to positively and effectively engage with people across all levels 

• Being flexible, optimistic and highly adaptable to changing environments and priorities 

• You will be able to translate business and customer needs into technology solutions, have relationship experience at all levels of business and be experienced in needs analysis, process mapping, creation of user stories and running workshops. 

In summary, this is a broad, senior role with responsibilities spanning business, finance, ERP and IT. It will report to the Digital Business Manager and work alongside other BAs as well as the wider IT team, technology partners, and subject matter experts.
